WST will be using a single page Equivalency Credit form this year
which will combine the planning and documentation on the same
page. Part 1 (Planning) will be completed in the fall and Part 2
(Documentation) will be completed in June. We hope the new
combined form will lead to less confusion and better tracking.
It went out to the printers today and should be available by the
end
of the week. As soon as we have them ready, I will go into
each
classroom to pass them out and give instructions to students.
You
should begin seeing students with these forms sometime by the
middle of September, 2007. Also, as soon as the forms are printed,
we’ll send blank ones to your school. If you have any questions,
contact Dean Jaquish WST Student Advocate (360) 473-0559.
KnowHow2Go: INFORMATION FOR LOW-INCOME STUDENTS
Almost all young teens dream of a college education, but many low-income
students face formidable roadblocks. Few go to college, and even fewer
succeed. Lumina Foundation has joined with the American Council on
Education and the Ad Council to launch a new campaign dedicated to raising
awareness among low-income students about the critical steps they need to
take to get to college. Follow the link, KnowHow2Go, to learn how this
campaign encourages students to take these steps and connects them
with helpful information and resources. Finding someone to help is the first and
most important step.
