| Ninth through twelfth grade students
who complete selected career and technical education courses with
a B grade or better can earn Community/Technical College credit
on their own school campus.
How?
Talk to your teacher, career/guidance counselor
Enroll in a designated Dual-Credit/College
Tech Prep class at your school
Use the "Online
Registration" link below
- Have your Social Security number ready when you register OR if
you don't know your SSN, go ahead and register without it, then you can either call our office to report your number (360.475.7353) or write your SSN on your registration form before you turn it in to your teacher.
- If you don't wish to report your Social Security number, use this link to print out an Olympic College SSN Exemption Form, then fill it out and attach it to your signed registration form - turn it in to your teacher OR mail it to: West Sound Consortium, 1600 Chester Ave. CSC 424/425, Bremerton, WA 98337.
- DO NOT SEND ANY PAYMENT: Olympic College is now picking up the registration fee for all Tech Prep/Dual Credit students. Just sign the form and return it to your teacher or mail it to the WSEC office.
Study hard and earn a 3.0 grade or higher
in the class. At the end of the trimester, semester or year, remind your teacher to report your grade and we'll contact Olympic College - they'll send you a transcript for the credits you earned!
Be sure to call our office to change your contact information if you move.
Average cost of 5 college credits at a local
Community College is
over $370 + books and fees; you pay NOTHING.
Once you receive your OC transcript you're considered a continuing OC student - not a new OC student - so you're eligible for priority registration for Olympic College classes
based on the number of credits you have earned.
Earn credit toward a professional/technical
college certificate. Many certificates require 45 credits. You could
be more than half way there by the time you complete high school.
Earn credit toward a two-year Professional/
Technical AA degree.
Military bound? Earn a promotion and pay raise
with your college credit.
University bound? Check with the admissions
office for more information about credit transfer.
Stand out! List your college credits on your
resume for employers.
